Public Announcement: Temporary Closure of Dog Intake Due to Funding Shortage
As of today, July 29, 2025, we regret to inform our community that we have had to temporarily close our intake for future dogs due to financial constraints. Our bank account has reached an all-time low, and we are unable to take in any more dogs at this time.
Currently, we have 35 incredible dogs in our care, and we are fully committed to their well-being. Each dog costs us an average of $600-$800 to prepare for adoption, which includes expenses for spaying or neutering, rabies vaccinations, 4DX testing, and other necessary medical treatments. While our adoption fee is $400, it doesn’t fully cover the costs of getting each dog ready for their forever home. Despite this financial challenge, we have always prioritized the dogs’ health and future over profit.
It's important to note that all of our staff are volunteers—we have no paid employees. Every single person working with us does so out of passion for helping these dogs, and their dedication allows us to continue running despite these financial hurdles. This means we have to be even more mindful of our resources, as we rely entirely on donations, fundraisers, and adoption fees to cover the costs of care.
We also want to be clear that we will never take in a dog we cannot provide 100% care to. Our commitment to each dog is unwavering, and we are determined to make responsible decisions moving forward. With the winter months ahead, we know fundraising can become even more difficult, and we need to plan now to avoid overextending ourselves.
Note that this does NOT include dogs that have previously been adopted from Fetch and are needing to be returned to us. We will always stand by our dogs for the entirety of their lives. Thank you for your understanding.
