Meet Cookie! (The Dog Who Doesn’t Need You)

Hi, I’m Cookie. I’m about three-ish years old, but let’s be honest — I’m probably older than that because I’ve been around the block a few times. I’m a strong-willed, sassy girl, which is basically dog speak for “I know what I want, and I want it now.” I’m also incredibly independent, which means I don’t need you. But hey, if you’re nice enough, I’ll let you be part of my life. You’ll get my trust — eventually — if you’re worthy. Spoiler alert: It’ll take a while.

Things I’m afraid of:

Most humans (you’re weird, stop staring at me)

Unexpected noises (WHY DOES EVERYTHING MAKE SO MUCH NOISE?)

People who want to cuddle me without my permission (rude)

The vacuum (it’s clearly a monster, don’t even try to tell me otherwise)

Things I’m good at:

Hiding in plain sight (I’m really good at it, actually. You’ll barely know I’m around. Like a ninja, but fluffier.)

Stubbornly refusing to follow orders (because who needs rules, am I right?)

Giving you the cold shoulder when you’re being too much

I can sit, though — but only when I feel like it.

What I’m looking for in a human:

Someone who’s patient. You’re gonna need it.

Someone who understands that I need time to warm up. Like, a lot of time. If you’re in a hurry, you’re not the one for me.

A human who knows how to give space, respect boundaries, and let me come to you — when I’m ready.

Must be okay with my sassy side. If you don’t love a good “get lost” look, this isn’t going to work out.

Why adopt me?

Because I’m one of a kind. There’s no one else like me. I’m the mystery you didn’t know you needed in your life. I’ll keep you on your toes and remind you daily that not everything in life is about cuddles and fetch. I’m here to teach you how to respect a queen… and if you’re really lucky, maybe I’ll let you pet me.

Don’t expect cuddles right away, but expect loyalty after I figure out that you’re not a threat (it’ll take time, but I’m worth it).
